first thing i did in the office today
it was already past ten in the morning when i got to the office. i went straight to the boss' room which is used to be called "aquarium" because more than half of its front wall is made of glass. transparency is said to be the principle being symbolized by such glass walls (as well as wire - not concrete - fences) in government offices.
she asked me why i came to see her.
i said it was about that open letter. it was a friend who sent it because i put it in my blog, although i deleted it afterwards. yes, i understand that in our meeting the other day, we already agreed about protecting this organization. but then, things like this do happen.
she told me that she was able to track down the organization and the officer of that organization who sent it.
i said that's why i came to tell you that it was me and not the other staff here whom you might be suspecting of leaking the letter because she's the one networking with these organizations...you should also not worry about you and other officials being implicated because you are also being criticized in that letter...
she said "thank you for telling me". i said "sorry if the leakage bothered you". she said "sometimes, we can't really control things". i said "perhaps, we shouldn't".
then she told me that they were planning to give me a different assignment - something about writing position papers - as part of the internal restructuring...
i said that i don't know yet. then i slipped out of the aquarium...
